Many buyers do not know that there is a difference between a Client and a Customer, which could have a big impact. A Customer is a buyer who inquires about or schedules a showing on a property they saw online or through other marketing, or someone who comes to an open house. No true relationship or fiduciary obligation is in effect between a Client and a Realtor.
Only upon creating such a relationship does the Buyer become a Client. What does that mean for you as the Buyer? When you work with a Buyer’s Agent, your Realtor has an obligation to you to deliver full service and act in a fiduciary capacity.
